Art of Success 2011: Oceans of Opportunity
Art of Success 2011: Oceans of Opportunity reached a new heights this year with uplifting messages from keynote speakers, expert insight from technology trainers and an atmosphere conducive to networking and discussion. Thanks to all of the speakers, trainers, exhibitors, sponsors and clients for making this year’s client conference, held at the Hilton in downtown Portland, a huge success. The conference brought together professionals from across the nation, which included collection agencies, healthcare and government organizations. All attendees came to learn, build relationships and foster dialogue around key issues currently facing collection professionals.
This year’s conference featured over 25 exhibitors and drew more than 200 attendees. Enhanced content was offered through a joint effort with the Columbia Ultimate Users Group (CUUG). Session topics included industry trends, predictions, possibilities, compliance updates and leadership education. In addition to the many breakout sessions offered, the conference provided opportunities for attendees to network with industry experts and exhibitors throughout the week. Many attendees also took advantage of the two days of free, hands-on technology training.
Highlights of the event include the opening keynote presentation, Columbia Ultimate’s President and CEO R. Fred Houston, where he announced several new products and services. Attendees also heard from featured industry experts Ron Brown (President of CSI Group) who spoke about “Triangulation Tracing” an innovative skip trace technique that utilizes a waterfall effect; John Bedard (Managing Partner, Bedard Law Group, P.C.) who discussed the latest case law on communication compliance within the collection industry; and Steve Ard (RevQ’s President) who addressed the current and future features of RPCS.
Clients took advantage of the relaxing dinner cruise aboard the Portland Spirit on Tuesday evening. They enjoyed Northwest cuisine while listening to island music and admiring the lush scenery. Also to heighten the tropical atmosphere, a trip to Hawaii for two was raffled off as a prize.

Art of Success attendees enjoyed a cruise on the Portland Spirit where they relaxed and viewed the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
